The European Liquid Gas Congress is the hub for collaboration, knowledge sharing, and progress within the liquid gas industry. This year, we celebrated the second edition of theAWARDS, that took place at the historic Zinc Rolling Mill in Szopienice. This prestigious awards ceremony was the highlight of "theDINNER", where we honoured the extraordinary achievements of individuals, teams, researchers, and organizations dedicated to advancing the liquid gas sector.

theLEADER
This award is dedicated to an individual who has significantly contributed to the LPG industry through adeptly communicating a compelling vision, inspiring colleagues, and overseeing transformative changes. The candidate has successfully worked towards enhancing and advocating for the liquid gas industry.
TheAWARDS winner for theLEADER category is Esther Busscher, Strategic public affairs & sustainable development lead for SHV Energy and Member of Board of Directors and Member of Management Committee of Liquid Gas Europe. Thanks to her advocacy for renewable LPG and sustainable energy policy, she has become a leading voice for the sector in Brussels, leading the creation of a unified 2050 vision for renewable gas and strengthened EU-level collaboration.
theINNOVATOR
This recognition goes to individual professionals (small to medium-sized enterprises) with ingenious concepts that have injected a sense of novelty and vitality into the industry. These could span various domains, including products, processes (whether technical or commercial), and operational methods. The showcased project vividly exemplifies the creative application of data to usher in operational efficiencies, fresh processes, innovative products, and imaginative solutions.
TheAWARDS winner for theINNOVATOR category is BeGas Motor. Thanks to its pioneering work in 100% BioAutogas engines, BeGas is driving the decarbonization of heavy urban transport across Europe. With a €18 million capital boost in 2025, it is accelerating R&D and launching new 6- and 9-litre engines that meet Euro VI and future Euro VII standards. The company is expanding its production capacity and strengthening its supply chain with top-tier partners like Bosch and ZF Group. Through strategic alliances with cities and logistics providers, BeGas is scaling sustainable mobility solutions. Recognized as a leader in clean tech, it is reshaping the future of industrial transport with innovation and impact.
theSAFETYGUARDIAN
As safety is paramount in the liquid gas sector, this award honours projects or campaigns that have advanced safety standards. Whether spearheaded by individual professionals or teams, the submissions should demonstrate significant improvements in safety protocols and practices, showcasing a commitment to safeguarding lives and assets in the industry.
For theSAFETYGUARDIAN awards, our winner is Spincap. Thanks to its commitment to circular economy principles and clean energy financing, SpinCap is accelerating the transition to a low-carbon economy. By supporting breakthrough technologies and scaling sustainable startups, it plays a key role in Europe’s green innovation ecosystem. Its investment strategies prioritize measurable environmental and social impact alongside financial returns. SpinCap actively collaborates with public and private stakeholders to drive systemic change in energy and mobility sectors. Recognized for its visionary leadership, it is shaping the future of sustainable finance and climate tech.
theRESEARCHER
Submissions should centre around the exploration and innovative pursuit of fresh ideas. Projects must meet the criteria of formal Research and Development (R&D) initiatives, conducted in partnership with academic and research institutions, and must conclude with a comprehensive report elucidating the research discoveries. The highlighted project should encompass either a novel product, process (whether technical or commercial), or a research endeavour that contributes to enhanced comprehension or new data.
Mary Coughlin, Head of Industrial & Commercial Sales at Calor Ireland, is theAWARDS winner for theRESEARCHER. Thanks to her leadership in advancing renewable energy solutions, Mary has been instrumental in Calor’s transition to BioLPG and other clean fuels. As Regional Sales Manager, she has championed sustainable energy access for rural communities across Northern Ireland. She plays a key role in pioneering innovative fuels like renewable dimethyl ether (rDME) through SHV Energy’s joint ventures. Her work bridges industry, academia, and government to accelerate the path to net zero. Recognized globally, she was named one of the top five women in gas at the World LPG Association Conference in 2024.
theSUSTAINABLEDRIVER
This award celebrates a product or process that enhances an organization's sustainability performance, emphasizing the Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) aspects, particularly through well-executed projects and effective communication. The highlighted project should actively foster and enhance sustainability within the liquid gas sector.
TheAWARDS winner for theSUSTAINABLEDRIVER category is Josh Barr, project engineer at SHV Energy and sustainability project manager at Calor Ireland. Thanks to his leadership in deploying BioLPG and advancing renewable fuel solutions, Josh Barr is helping transform energy access in rural Northern Ireland. As Project Engineer at Calor Ireland, he plays a key role in implementing innovative low-carbon technologies. He supports the rollout of renewable dimethyl ether (rDME) through SHV Energy’s joint venture, Dimeta. His work bridges engineering, sustainability, and community impact, accelerating the region’s path to net zero. Recognized for his forward-thinking approach, he is shaping the future of clean energy in off-grid areas.
theRENEWABLEPIONEER
Renewable energy is the future, and this award acknowledges innovative offerings, processes, or campaigns that enhance the accessibility of renewable liquid gases. Open to companies and national associations, the submissions should highlight efforts that have made renewable liquid gases more accessible and practical, driving the industry's transition towards a greener future.
With its project Osada Karbówko, GASPOL is theAWARDS winner of theRENEWABLEPIONEER. Thanks to its pioneering introduction of bioLPG in Poland, GASPOL enabled Osada Karbówko to become one of the country’s first leisure facilities powered by renewable gas. The project combines clean energy with luxury hospitality, showcasing how sustainability and comfort can go hand in hand. GASPOL’s collaboration with regulators helped shape national standards for bioLPG certification and distribution. The initiative also includes solar energy integration and digital transformation to boost energy resilience.
